Do you have something to say about public transportation available to Cobb Senior Citizens? Here's your chance to ask the Cobb Directors of Transportation and Cobb Senior Services how much of the County's budget is being allocated to meet the travel needs of Seniors. You'll also hear about the proposed Cobb Mobility (30-year) SPLOST tax to be voted on in this year's General Election and how it affects Seniors. Additionally, paid members will have the chance to vote for volunteers who will lead the Senior Council this year. The Senior Citizen Council of Cobb County Announces 2024-2025 Board of Directors Election Details.
This meeting is open to the public and will also feature a presentation and Q&A with Drew Raessler, Director of Cobb County Department of Transportation and Ioana Bovo-Nicolescu, Cobb Senior Services Director. You are encouraged to attend and voice your opinions.
In accordance with our Bylaws, the Nominating Committee is posting the following slate of candidates for elected office on our website within 15 days prior to the elections:
· President - Jim D'Emilio
· Vice President of Internal Affairs - Shelly Drewry
· Vice President of External Affairs - Vera Kiser
· Vice President of Governance - Inez Finch
· Secretary - Linda Harris
· Treasurer - Heber Earl Tucker
· Immediate Past President - June Van Brackle
· Members-At-Large - Jessica Brooks, Charles Dowick, Cort Neimark, Arlene Williams
Additional candidates may be nominated from the floor prior to the call to vote, provided that:

Elected officers of the Board of Directors serve a term of 2 years, working with other non-elected Board members and volunteers, Cobb nonprofit organizations, and both county and state governments to address the needs of Cobb County Seniors.
In addition to the above positions, there are committee leadership or member opportunities available in voter information, information technology and research.
