Every year the Senior Citizen Council of Cobb County (SCC) observes National Senior Citizens Day with a celebratory luncheon and the awarding of Life Achievement Proclamations. These awards which are issued and presented by the Cobb County Commissioners honor outstanding Cobb seniors who have made exceptional volunteer contributions to our community.
Our awardees are always impressive individuals who have given their time, energy, and talents to help others.
There have been almost 50 proclamations issued to deserving seniors by the Cobb County Commissioners since 2018 when SCC started this recognition program. We hope that you can assist us by nominating seniors in your life whom you know deserve this honor.
Out of these nominations, the SCC Life Achievement Committee will select the six finalists who will be awarded their proclamation plaques at our luncheon at the Piedmont Church Conference Center on September 11, 2024.
We have attached two documents, the first explains the nominating process and important dates and the second is the nominating form itself which when completed should be emailed to Inez Finch at info@seniorsofcobb.org.
The completed nomination form, one per nominee, must be submitted to the SCC no later than Thursday, July 29, 2024. We thank you for taking the time to assist us in locating worthy nominees.
