The Senior Citizen Council of Cobb County (SCC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enriching the lives of adults over 55 in Cobb County, Georgia.
Established in 1972, we are a passionate group of volunteers working to ensure Cobb seniors feel connected, informed, and empowered.
Here's how we make a difference:
CONNECTION: We foster a sense of community through informative website updates, a monthly e-BULLETIN and strong social media presence.
INFORMATION: Our website provides valuable resources on topics like healthcare, transportation, Medicare, downsizing and patient advocacy. We also host educational programs with experts on issues relevant to Cobb seniors.
ADVOCACY: We champion senior concerns by communicating these issues to local and state government representatives, ensuring Cobb seniors' voices are heard. In 2024 the membership and subscriber base increased by 27% in 2024 showing SCC’s effectiveness in communicating with Cobb seniors.
Our MEMBERSHIP SURVEY indicated a high level of membership satisfaction (82%) among SCC members. 2024 was a remarkable year, SCC conducted 10 educational events (seminars given by subject matter experts) which we feel truly made a difference in the lives of many of our seniors. These free events were highly attended and were held at venues around Cobb County. We also attended many other county, community and Veteran expos to keep Cobb seniors informed.
